Roseate Tern nesting colony at Pelican Shoal

Comments: This video was taken at a breeding colony of Roseate Terns on Pelican Shoal, located about 9 km southeast of Boca Chica Key in the Florida Keys. Thanks to Ricardo Zambrano with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for providing access to Pelican Shoal. The quarter-acre island composed of coral rubble and sand was washed away by wave action from hurricanes Dennis, Katrina, Rita, and Wilma in 2004 and 2005.
