Q: What type of video camera do you use?
A: I am currently using the Canon XL H1A high definition video camcorder. I have used the Canon XL1, XL2, and XH A1S digital video camcorders in the past.
Q: Do you use a tripod?
A: Yes, I use the Sachtler FSB-6 fluid head mounted on a Sachtler 4588 Speed Lock 75 carbon fiber tripod for most of my shots.
Q: What type of microphone do you use?
A: I use the Sennheiser MKE 416 shotgun microphone with a Rycote 18cm medium-hole wind screen. The microphone derives phantom power from the XLR jack on the video camera. I attach the microphone to the video camera using a Rode SM3 shockmount attached to the camera shoe.
Q: What type of video tapes do you use?
A: I am currently using Sony PHDVM-63DM Digital Master HDV/DV 63-minute mini-DV video cassettes.
Q: Where do you buy your video equipment?
A: I purchase most of my video equipment from B&H Photo in New York.
Q: Do you use the autofocus setting on the video lens?
A: I usually use all manual settings on the camera.
Q: What is the focal length on the lens?
A: The Canon XL H1A camcorder comes with a 20X lens. I also use a Canon XL 1.6x extender.
